AVERT Family Violence: Safety introduces holistic screening, risk assessments and safety planning procedures for family violence services.
Safety is based on current research and professional expertise. Gain skills and knowledge across screening practices, risk identification and conducting effective safety planning.
Participants learn more about Family DOORS (Detection of Overall Risk Screen). The Family DOORS framework helps detect and evaluate risks before they escalate, and tailor an appropriate response.
Upon completion of the course, participants are issued with a Certificate of Completion for AVERT Family Violence: Safety.
If you are intending to use AVERT Family Violence for Continuing Professional Development (CPD) points, please check with your relevant professional body about their CPD guidelines.
This is an entry-level course with no assumed knowledge or necessary work experience with family and domestic violence. We recommend beginning with Fundamentals and continuing after with Safety.
Safety is the second of two introductory courses in the AVERT Family Violence Training Suite. We recommend beginning with Fundamentals, and then to continue your journey with Safety. Move onto Behaviour Change or Children after the two foundational courses.
