This foundational course provides an introductory understanding of the historical and legal contexts of family and domestic violence (FDV). The content includes readings, videos and reflective activities. Explore sector definitions, relationship dynamics, social prevalence, impacts on victims and service responses.
Upon completion of the course, participants are issued with a Certificate of Completion for AVERT Family Violence: Fundamentals.
If you are intending to use AVERT Family Violence for Continuing Professional Development (CPD) points, please check with your relevant professional body about their CPD guidelines.
This is an entry-level course with no assumed knowledge or necessary work experience with FDV.
Fundamentals is the first step towards completing the AVERT Family Violence Training Suite. To continue your journey, we recommend moving onto Safety.
